Hmmm... Yet another reason not to be cheerful. I'm not sure I fully thought the theme of this blog through when I named it, did I?!
Actually work, on the whole has not been to bad, so I guess that is a reason to be cheerful. But enough about work already.
We went blackberry picking at the weekend and the fruits of our labours are currently sat in 3 large jars of sugar and brandy. We are fast running out of kitchen work space as they join the 5 jars of raspberries in gin that I started a few days before. It'll be a few weeks before they are ready but we miraculously still have a few bottles left over from last year. I have about 3 kilos of cooking apples that my nan gave me that I have to find something to do with. They don't make a great liqueur, unfortunately so I shall have to think a bit more about that. All of our spuds are up out of the ground & are now bursting out of our under-stairs cupboard. I'll be chopping & blanching a fair bit tomorrow I reckon!
Today's reason to be cheerful: The wedding album will be completed & ordered tomorrow!!

Last day of the holidays!
Generally not a reason to be cheerful but I'm going to make the most of it. Particularly as I was roused from my lie in by a phone call about Friday's staff training.
So, how to forget about the fact I have to go back to work after 5 1/2 weeks off....
I decided to sort out our study a bit so that the crafting mess I've created in our spare room can be moved. So I moved the printers around, had a chocolate (orange cream from a box of Cadbury's Roses - mmmmm) and then got a bit bored. Mom asked me yesterday to make a Christening card for her cousin's little girl. It's not for a week or so, but I thought I'd get on to that instead. She wanted me to use one of my sixpences, for luck, on it. So, I put something together for her. Which resulted in me making 3 different designs (including one for a boy). They are photographed & ready to be posted in my Etsy shop, or at the very least sent to school with mom so she can sell them to her colleagues. I was very pleased with the result. Only trouble is now, I prefer it to the one I'm going to have to give!
I then stuck some Happy Birthday (etc...) stickers onto my Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cards & they look great. Then, I made some good luck cards, again using the sixpences and some cute little envelopes. This lead onto a design I've had in my head for some multi purpose cards where you write your own miniature message & pop it into the envelope stuck onto the from of the card. This will make great use of some scrapbooking paper I got from etsy a few weeks ago. I need some 3mm ribbon to do them though so that had to be ordered from ebay. Also ordered myself some more envelopes, while I was at it, as I'm pretty much out of them now. I included a few larger ones as mom said I should made some bigger cards. At her school, on someone's birthday they have a card that gets sent round for everyone to sign. A little A6 sized one isn't really big enough so I'm going to design some A5 ones for her.
The last thing I did was finally get around to setting up this blog. This is my first attempt at blogging & I'm not really sure what I'm supposed to be doing but I'm giving it a go which is the main thing.
Today's Reason to be Cheerful: The nectarines are finally ripe & ready to be eaten.
